Neil M. is a percussionist, drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. He holds a BM from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and an MM from the University of Michigan, and he has performed professionally in bands, orchestras, musical theater pits, and jazz combos around the world.
Neil has toured internationally, playing at renowned venues such as Boston Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, Vienna’s Musikverein, Salzburg’s Mozarteum, the Concertgebouw, Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, Buenos Aires’ Centro Cultural Kirchner, Uruguay’s Teatro Solís, and many others.
Currently, he is an active drummer in New York’s music scene, performing with singer-songwriters, country bands, cruise ship lounge acts, and original music projects, as well as working in recording sessions.
Neil is passionate about music education and has taught in public schools throughout NYC. He has been a Teaching Assistant at Interlochen Arts Camp, a Teaching Artist for the Boston Philharmonic, and has extensive experience working with students with special needs. His teaching philosophy goes beyond drumming—he aims to help students experience music as an art form, a team effort, and a powerful means of expression.
