Nora is an improviser, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn, New York. Her dynamic musical voice flows across genres, drawing from the rich traditions of jazz, rock, and experimental music. Utilizing saxophone, flute, guitar, synthesizer, and voice, Nora creates soundscapes that are both exploratory and deeply rooted in emotion, driven by a desire to foster connection and communication through sound.
Her work as a solo artist reflects a deep commitment to spontaneity and collaboration, with performances that center on openness, texture, and the ever-changing conversation between players. Nora’s creative practice is constantly evolving, shaped by a curiosity for sonic experimentation and a reverence for the unique voices of her collaborators.As a sought-after performer, Nora has toured and recorded with a wide range of celebrated artists including Chris Morrissey, Caroline Rose, The New Pornographers, and Beth Orton.
She is also an active member of the Brooklyn-based Gamelan Dharma Swara, further expanding her musical perspective through traditional Balinese repertoire and ensemble practice. Beyond the stage, Nora is a devoted educator who views teaching as a joyful and collaborative process.
